I think people in America typically have a definition like this:

Really, because I have a Bosch and I had to install the app and then use HACS to install an integration which goes through their cloud.

I don’t use that for anything more than alerts but it’s annoying it has zero local control. This is a perfect use case for Zigbee or Z-Wave and if I’m paying a premium I don’t get why I wouldn’t get premium features.

Also some features are app only (special dry modes etc) so if I want the functionality I paid for I have to be signed up for their cloud.

Newer Bosch lock SOME features behind their app. There are literally no buttons for it, you HAVE to have a smartphone and internet and you HAVE to use their app to use the features.

An LLM can summarize the rules of chess, because it predicts the sequence of words needed to create that with incredible accuracy. This is why it’s so weird when it goes wrong, because if one part of it is off then it throws the rest of the work it’s doing out of balance.

But all it is doing is a statistical analysis of all the writing it’s has been trained on and determining the best next word to use (some later models do them in groups and out of order).

That doesn’t tell it fuck-all about how to make a chess move. It’s not ingesting information in a way that lets it create a model to tell you what the next best chess move is, how to solve linear algebra, or any other activity that requires procedural thought.

It’s just a chatterbox that tells you whatever you want to hear. No wonder the chuds love it

I don’t have the article but basically when the rich aren’t taxed proportionally, their wealth and therefore power grows, while the lower classes get squeezed harder as they must give up a greater portion of their wealth in order to fund the obligations toward said infrastructure that keeps the whole machine running.

When used inappropriately, they are one piece of the larger system that funnels all the wealth upwards at the expense of everyone and everything else.

Oh now I understand - the rich sold their soles for their fortunes! It all makes sense now.
